I’m also planning on sharing some of my own recipes that I have created with inspiration from family and life experiences. Some are doozies!! Turn off the heat and remove the pan from the burner. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves, and the syrup comes to a gentle boil.
I always try to keep true to the original recipe but also find ways to make them my own. Add the water and sugar to a small saucepan and heat over medium. Funnel jam into two prepared half pint jars and process in a small water bath canner for 10 minutes. Bring to a bubble and cook over high heat for 8 to 12 minutes, until the jam is thick and sticky. Taking the older generations recipes and making changes to adapt them to todays generation. When honey has dissolved and the strawberries are quite juicy, scrape the mixture into your pan. Ever since that day of discovering the plethora of family recipes, I have been passionately making these recipes from the past. I even came up with my own pumpkin spice blend after many, many attempts.
I kept discovering recipes that I had never heard of before, all the while working on a recipe for pumpkin pie, which, by the way I did eventually figure out. So I started looking through some old recipe books of my grandmothers and realized there was an unbelievable amount of recipes! They were not organized in the slightest. I always loved to bake, and one day I decided I wanted to conquer the task of baking the best pumpkin pie. It was being used for storage of my grandparents furniture and things after they had passed away.
